Something has to open.
Something has to close.

How much of your breathing space is easy?
How do you teach your brain that it can be easy?

How does  constriction hide in your system?

You nervous system is running the holding pattern?
How can you free yourself?

Many months after an auto accident. Breathing difficulty.
After the first session to free the body from the contraction that lingers after injury:
“I just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to evaluate my situation and provide your valuable input and “homework”.  I have good news!  I ran two miles this morning WITHOUT walking!  And I could breathe easily!  I literally have not felt that since my accident happened!  I could not be more excited!!!!!! THANK YOU :)”

Four days after the second session to free the front of the body, a more breathing oriented session:
“I am pleased to say that my breathing challenges have totally subsided since I saw you on Sunday!  I still have a couple short breaths every now and again that I struggle for but my newly-learned breathing technique helps a ton!  THANK YOU!” -L. marketing account coordinator

Restricted breathing.
“I didn’t know much about Somatics but I knew I was having trouble catching my breath and having pain that I couldn’t quite identify. I had heard of Eric Cooper through Ann Arbor friends and decided that it was time to get to know what he could do for me.
Eric displayed great knowledge as he assessed how I moved and how my body responded. He demonstrated an individual method and studied how I applied his direction. He is generous with his time and is completely dedicated to a treatment that gave me almost immediate improvement.
I definitely plan to go back and continue on a wellness path with Eric Cooper Somatics!” -Maria, grandmother

Online review from an Teacher/Counselor.   Main complaint: shoulder and back pain.
“Just one session with Eric Cooper demonstrated how I can begin to heal some life-long patterns and how to catch myself in the act of resorting to stress-induced muscle tension. I’m breathing more fully now and my chronic back pain finally has been addressed in a way that brings the most exquisite self-love through practices that I continue at home.

Eric’s work is filled with kindness and attention. This isn’t the same as people in the medical profession who have a good “bedside manner” though we can be grateful for those folks, too. What I mean is that Eric’s kindness and attention are focused on what needs to be released to bring kindness to my physical existence. He taught me so much in a short amount of time.

I discovered muscles that I didn’t even know I had even though they have been working overtime for decades. I highly recommend that anyone with chronic pain find your way to Eric Cooper’s office.”   -C. teacher, counselor

Presenting with a great deal of breathing difficulty, a year after an overexertion. Two long clinical sessions. Physical therapy seemed to make the problem worse. “Just thought I’d let you know how I have been feeling this evening after our session today. Well my voice is back to normal and my breathing much deeper and more relaxed. I still have pain in the left mid/lower back but it has much improved. I am so happy and relieved I really feel we are on the right track at last, and I shall be cancelling the rest of my sessions with the PT.  Thank you once again for your time and your care and your attention to detail, I really appreciate it; and look forward to our next session.” -J, Agriculturalist

It really makes a difference for my sleep. I am not awakened by hip pain after your sessions and if I keep doing my excerises. I love being aware of my side ribs as I breathe and sing.” –S., Nurse, Yoga teacher
